Chinese newspaper commercial times has leaked the information about Nokia’s order to Compal communications for building a 4″ Maemo phone. The phone would feature a Qualcomm’s 7000-series chipset processor and not the Samsung ARM Cortex-A8 which powers Nokia N900. This is the first time Compal communications have received a phone costing more than $150 to build, the report says.

The 4″ unnamed Maemo phone would be shipping in the second half of 2011. While Nokia and Intel collectively work on their mobile , a Maemo phone in 2011 may not be such a good idea. We’ll keep you updated on the news as more information surfaces.
